This rare wine from Amyntaio was produced by Laurens Hartman on the Limniona grape from selected fields of older vines, planted in soil rich in sand and clay. The fields grow at an altitude of 650 meters, in an area known for very cold winters with heavy rain and snow, as well as dry summers with cold nights.
To attain the best quality wine, only the free-run most is used for the production. After fermentation and a short stay on steel tanks, the wine is aged for about a year on old French casks, before being transferred to the bottles without the use of pumps or filters.
The wine is characterized by a beautiful deep, almost beetroot-like colour. The wine has plenty of fruit, mild tannins and significant longevity. Limniona is perfect to enjoy on its own on a cold winter day, or with spice-heavy foods or proteins.
The wine has been at Gaston in Stockholm and at S'vineriet vinapotek in Odense.
